JNU Attacks 2020
At Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi on 5th of January, some masked mobs entered into the college campus and attacked the teachers and students who were been ready for protesting against the hike in their college fees and also against the CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act).
In this attack, about 31 were injured. The mob, particularly targeted the students belonging to the Students' Union. These masked men entered into campus and attacked with Glass Bottles, Cricket bats and much more. Students in fear, went inside the rooms and locked the door of the rooms. Some students, in order to escape the attack, jumped from the windows of the first floor of the building and broke their legs. Police force witnessed these attacks and didn't even intervene in these attacks, behaving a statue. Aishe Ghosh, the leader of the Students' Union and other 30 were injured and she was filed in a First Information Report (FIR), which the college members condemned this act as she was bleeding.
Students accused Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organisation for doing such act which the leader of the organisation denied and stated that this might be the act done by the Students' Union of RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) party.
At many states, people started protesting against this inhuman act. Police were further investigating this case. But both the people and the media criticized the police force for being inactive and also comments were passed on that the police force were better in Jamia University than here.
Also, the College pupils and staffs wanted the Vice Chancellor to resign his job as he was the one instrumented against the wrong doings and the illegal activities at the University. Even, the Vice Chancellor was doubted for this act.
My Opinion:
The only part reflects here is that the ineffectiveness of the police force. Also, Delhi city is now becoming one of the most threatened city and also as " The City of Crimes", and also the 4th most polluted city in the World. The capital city should regain its positive vibes from pollution, riots, violence, crimes as it affects our country's growth and integrity in the global market. Due to CAB, BJP's support is decreasing day-by-day and people are becoming against this Government. Also, in the last three years, India has lost its peace and facing issues and our country's growth is what getting affected here. People have returned still back to their normal life.
