At South Africa, due to the second wave of Corona Virus targeting each and every people, irrespective of their background, with cases raising day by day at an average of 10,000 numbers, Cricket Australia have decided to postpone this tour . So, hence this tour has been postponed with both cricketing boards agreeing to the reasons mutually.  South Africa was experiencing over 10,000 positive cases every day, with a peak of 21,980 on January 8. Numbers have since dropped to an average of 5000 per day, but with Variant 501.Y.V2 now rampant, and possibly spreading more easily than COVID -19, even CSA's best efforts were not enough to persuade Australia to tour. But, now it is confirmed that Australian cricket team is touring to New Zealand and South Africa for T20I and Test Series respectively. Sri Lankan cricket team has announced their test squad for South Africa and England Test Series. The test matches to be played in this series will amount to the ICC World Test Championship points, which is currently ongoing. As in the previous post about Pakistan Cricket, I have mentioned that, teams like England, South Africa, New Zealand and West Indies, in which, England's tour of Pakistan has been confirmed . After the confirmation of England tour of Pakistan, now South Africa have also confirmed that they would be touring Pakistan for a 2 match test and 3 match T20I series, in the mid of January to mid of February, meaning exactly a month. After a home series against England, getting abandoned due to outbreak of COVID cases in both the teams, South African team is yet to play ODIs and haven't registered even a single point in ICC ODI Super League.
