South Africa tour of Pakistan - 2021 !!
As in the previous post about Pakistan Cricket, I have mentioned that, teams like England, South Africa, New Zealand and West Indies, in which, England's tour of Pakistan has been confirmed. After the confirmation of England tour of Pakistan, now South Africa have also confirmed that they would be touring Pakistan for a 2 match test and 3 match T20I series, in the mid of January to mid of February, meaning exactly a month.
After a home series against England, getting abandoned due to outbreak of COVID cases in both the teams, South African team is yet to play ODIs and haven't registered even a single point in ICC ODI Super League. Even this tour, didn't contain a single One Day game in it, but still this tour has some games, which might help them in ICC World Test Championship.
But for Pakistan fans, this is something serious thing, for which they need to celebrate, as almost a decade, International cricket is returning to Pakistan. Before these announcements, only Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh have toured Pakistan while other nations have played against Pakistan, with United Arab Emirates getting staged all those games.
In the point of view, South Africa is scheduled to play against Pakistan in Pakistan after 13 long years. Previously, they have faced Pakistan for two T20I tours, where both have been scheduled in United Arab Emirates. So, this tour will be a rejoice. Also, at many occasions, Cricket South Africa have expressed their interest to stage games against Pakistan at Pakistan. Now, this has been confirmed !
Even though, PSL hasn't been under much hype, still this sole league regained trust among overseas cricketers, who have been a part of Pakistan Super League. Also, the quality of cricket has increased slightly, than before with pitch curators, checking that is there any explosives placed under the wicket.
South Africa team will reach Pakistan on 14th of January and the schedule will begin on 26th of January, with players undergoing a quarantine period, and also giving COVID results Negative.
26th - 30th January - 1st Test, Karachi
4th - 8th February - 2nd Test, Rawalpindi
11th February - 1st T20I, Lahore
