Happy Birthday Jonathan Trott

Happy 39th Birthday to Jonathan Trott. He was born on Cape Town, South Africa. He played his U15 and U19 matches for South Africa, but represented England national cricket team in 2007. He made his T20I debut in 2007, ODI and test debuts in 2009. His career is so short span but in this small period he made some impeccable performances which the England cricket would never forget. He has been named as ICC Cricketer of the Year Award and ECB Cricketer of the Year Award in the year 2011. He was also awarded Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 2011.

While seeing his technique, he is something different from other English Batsmen, who both technically and mentally. He was a proper top order batsman, who instead of hitting hard and smashing for huge sixes, he plays calm and fine, with much elegance for four. He doesn't seem to hit the ball so hard. Sometimes, he even pushes the ball for a boundary. A strong batsman in Leg Side, and played orthodox cricket in his entire career. He is also a very few kind of a batsman, who can play long innings with just tailenders at other end and, which very few can be able to have that understanding between a top order batsman and a tailender and this man is purely perfect in it. Also, in his short career, he was very consistent in his performances.

But his career dropped a bit due to mental illness and anxiety, which made him to make early announcement in the year 2014. He wanted to comeback in the same year which was shelved due to personal reasons. He made his comeback after 2015 World Cup in tour against West Indies, after a great performances in the domestic cricket for England Lions. Then, he retired from all forms of cricket.

He played 52 Tests, in which he scored 3,835 runs at an average of 44, while in ODIs he played 68 matches, scoring 2,819 runs at an average of 51.25. His career started at just almost being 27 and it ended in 34 years pf his age. But, practically speaking, after 2013, he wasn't in that much perfection, so concluding that only 4 years of cricket he played for England cricket side. In this 4 years, he just earned a name withstanding in the history of cricket. A short career ended in a most recessed manner. Right now, England cricket team is sort of this kind of batsman, who plays from top order and supports till tailender and plays a long innings. Also, he has hit very few sixes just because of his more of elegant technical batting style.
