Same Day, Same Year

Double Birthdays

Jean Paul Duminy

On April 14, 1984, JP Duminy was born on Cape Town, South Africa. A left handed batsman, who also bowls off spin bowling had been in cricketing world for 15 years. A good all rounder, featured him playing in middle order No.6 position, who has good finishes in his career. He made his ODI debut in the year 2004 and Test debut in 2008, were so phenomenal. He starts his batting slowly, but can accelerate his game at anytime he needed to. he was good at ODI and T20I format but didn't had a good career in Test cricket. Also, one of the top players in his team, but his career ended on a really sad note with poor performances in 2019 World Cup, announcing his retirement immediately after that tournament. Also, right now, South African's cricket is in big queston, whereas he was one among few who were preserving South African cricket especially from Kolpak Deal. In bowling, he had caused major breakthroughs during important time, and SA cricket team will definitely miss this all rounder.

Umar Gul

On April 14, 1984, Umar Gul was born in Peshawar, Pakistan. He is a tall, 6 foot 3 inches pace bowler, who is little different from other regular bowlers of Pakistan. He doesn't generate much Pace, and Swing but can bowl in Old ball, can reverse swing, and bowl in perfect stump to stump deliveries. Also, he is great at bouncers, who uses his shoulder and only few uses shoulder. He is the leading wicket taker in first two T20 World cups. Also, at lower order, he can bat and score some important runs. But the problem is, he can't bowl at all countries, where in some countries he was being smashed and also he is an injury prone bowler. But his length and lines, particularly just bowling to the off stump which is exposed in a small gap between the arms and the body. But his International career ended around 2016 and right now playing in domestic cricket.
