Happy birthday James Pattinson

When we think of Australian cricket team, the first thing comes into our mind is their attacking cricket, next their fast bowling unit. Therey were many fast bowlers, who could bowl more than 145 kmph ant threaten the opposition batsmen. Some may shine till his end of cricketing career, while some may become underrated due to injuries, controversies, inconsistency and goes on.
One such underrated pace bowler is James Pattinson. He was born on Victoria, Melbourne and plays his domestic season for Victoria team. He made his International debut for Australia as fast bowler at the age of 21 in April 2011. He had something great to relish in Test cricket while a normal career till now in limited overs format.

He is a perfect Test cricket bowler. A tall, lanky generates a speed of nearly 150 who particularly can bowl two kinds of swinging deliveries. He constantly bowls at Good length and the idea to dismiss opposition right handed batsmen, he used to bowl the same delivery, many Aussie pacers would do so. Bowling a good length in a fourth stump line at a great pace, no batsmen can escape without a proper strategy. Also he swings the ball moving away from a right hander but maintaining the same fourth stump line. Another delivery is his inswingers with comes directly hitting the stump from pitching outside off stump. For Left handers, he pitches at stump to stump line at good length with swinging just both directions, not even planning about fourth stump line.

But there are some problems that, he can't bowl to much perfection at a condition where there aren't any work for pace and swing. In simple words, he struggles at sub continent pitches. Other than that, he is an injury prone cricketer, who tends to get injured. For bowlers, it is naturally to get injuries, but he gets more as due to his straight chest opened action. Due to his injuries, he lost his position in his side, many times. Also, he is not much perfect in bowling at Limited Overs Format, as the approach is something different when compared to Test cricket.

He made his comeback in 2019 Ashes Series after a 3 and half year absence, due to injury and he got awarded contract by Cricket Australia. If we lose position in the cricket side, it is so hard to regain to the side and if it occurs rapidly, it is even difficult as in that gap, some other player might fill his position more than him. But, he worked hard and got back to the squad. In 21 Tests, he snapped 81 wickets while in 14 ODIs, he picked up just 15 wickets.
