England's 481

On this day, 2 years ago, England's Men Cricket Team made the record for highest One Day Team Score, by breaking 445 runs. We have seen that, NZ Women's Cricket Team have made 490 against Ireland, making it the highest ever ODI score, combined both Men and Women. Then, England's Men Cricket Team have proved that they are also equal to women, with hitting 481 runs against Australia.

At England, Australia were touring England, for a five match ODI series, in which previous three ODI matches were won by England, and they sealed the series. On the other hand, Australia were looking weak with the ban of David Warner and Steve Smith. For ages and ages, they were arch rivals of the English Cricket Team, and these losses will definitely hit them. Also, atleast to regain their pride, they need to win the remaining two ODI matches.

Match was held at Nottingham. Australia have won the toss and decided to field first. English Openers came into bat. Right from the first over, they were playing so aggressive. Both Jason Roy and Johnny Bairstow, didn't step back. They were on the front foot and their only intention is see the ball and hit the ball. At the end of 10 overs, they scored 79/0. I was expecting that after powerplay, Australian team would bounce back, as they are famous for their fight till the end. But, their never give up attitude weren't much seen in this game. Jason Roy was dismissed for 82 runs. Roy missed his hundred but Bairstow and Hales, both scored hundreds, particularly, they didn't slow down even for a single over. On the Other hand, Australia were clueless. Andrew Tye, Jhye Richardson, Billy Stanlake, Stoinis all the main bowlers were smashes with economy of close to 10. They scored team score of 400 at 43rd over, and broke the record at 46th over. I personally was expecting them to score the first 500 in 50 over cricket. But, they missed it by 19, due to loss of few wickets in last 3 overs. Hales got out for 147 runs while Bairstow got out for 139 runs. Particularly, the inside out sixer shot, over deep extra cover, and a lofted six by Jason Roy over Deep Sweeper direction were so much of elegance and a best example of domination of English Cricket team over Aussies. But, we also need not to forget the contribution by Eoin Morgan, who scored quick fire rapid 30 balls 67, and with this knock, he became the most runs scored in ODI by an English Batsman. They finished with 481/6 at the end of 50 overs, just 11 runs short of becoming the highest ever team score in ODI cricket ( combined ). But, still is an emphatic effort.

Australian team came into bat. Like similarly, they tried to score quickly. But, loss of wickets at the regular intervals and the pressure of high scoring chase got rid off them. Their team barely needed to fight back so hard, and should needed to prove that they can win games even without the present of David Warner and Steve Smith. Whereas with the ball, team's top bowlers Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc weren't present, which lowered their team's confidence. But, this was biggest loss for Australian cricket, and getting out from this would be even more tougher. They got bowled out for 239 runs at the end of just 37 overs. Another mistake is the change in batting order in Australia which under performed on this day.

Man of the match was awarded to Alex Hales for his 147 runs off just 92 balls, coming at number 3 position.
