Re inventing Dutch win over English

In cricket, if a team with less power, or lesser ability beats a team with more power or more ability, it will be called as Upset. But, I think instead of calling it as an upset, it would be termed as Cricketing Victory, as at the end cricket had won. There are many situations where cricket had won like, Kenya beating Sri Lanka in 2003 World Cup, Ireland beating Pakistan in 2007 WC, England in 2011 WC and West Indies in 2015 WC. Similarly, Bangladesh have won against India in 2007 WC, England successively in 2011 and 2015 WCs. Also Zimbabwe beating Australia in 2007 T20 WC. Like wise Netherlands team had beat England, the founders of cricket in a tension chase, held at 2009 T20 World Cup at Lords, the Home of Cricket.

It was the 1st match of the tournament, held between England and Netherlands, at Lords. Netherlands won the toss and decided to field first. England made a great start to the chase with scoring 100 runs at the end of 11 overs without losing a wicket. Ravi Bopara and Luke Wright were cruising at a run rate of nearly 10 runs per over. Ravi Bopara got out for 46 runs, at the score of 102/2 in 11.2 overs. Luke Wright scored a nice fifty, but still it weren't enough, as at the last 9 overs, England scored mere 62 runs, losing 5 wickets. Netherlands were fierce in the fielding, and bowled at tight line and length forcing the batsmen to lose their way and which restricted them. England were bit too casual in their way which caused in their batting. Luke Wright top scored with 71 runs.

Netherlands came into the chase. Unlike England, Netherlands lost two wickets into the Powerplay, which made to think that, England might bowl out Netherlands. But then, Tom de Grooth, without wasting any time, used the powerplay efficiently and he scored well by picking up the gaps. Also, on that day, England were so poor in the field, with missing around 4-5 runouts. This poor intent in the field, caused at back in the match. Tom de Grooth was dismissed for well made 49. Then, Peter Borren, made useful 25 ball 30 run, which lessened the equation. Ten Doeschate came into the strike, at a time where 47 runs were needed of 7 overs. Instead of showing intent on hitting biggies, he intended more on converting singles into twos, whereas at the other end, wickets loss were coming at alternate intervals. Tendoeschate brought down the equation to 7 runs of last six balls, with 4 wickets remaining. Ball was given to Stuart Broad. At first 5 balls, Netherlands took 5 runs, making 2 runs off final delivery to win. Fielders were set a bit close, and Stuart broad bowled the delivery. Schiferli struck it straight to Broad, and both started to run, which Broad tried to hit the stumps at non strikers end, missing it, and it went to overthrow which made Netherland to snatch that extra run !. Netherlands won the match by 4 wickets, and Tom De Grooth was awarded Man of the Match for his brilliant assault at the start.

I personally feel that more teams should be brought in big cricketing tournaments, just like football, without limiting itself to low number of teams, which will surely bring prosperous results in the near future. Also, it will make cricket more competitive, with any team can beat any other team.
