Highest T20I Score Ever

The most fanciest format of game is the Twenty over format. Because, the balance between the ball and the bat drops in this format slightly, with the batsman has an upper advantage over the bowler. Also, it is designated in the way for some aggressive hitting. Many records have been created with a less space of him. Some players are so familiar and so skillful in mastering the T20 Format with the likes of Chris Gayle, Chris Lynn, etc. Another record in T20 Cricket, have been placed in the match which I'm gonna explain.

On this day, two years ago, Australia played Tri Series against Pakistan and Zimbabwe at Zimbabwean country respectively. Orginally, it would have been featuring only Australia and Zimbabwe. But, due to salary issues prevailing in Zimbabwe Cricket Board, to raise the funds, they invited Pakistan to feature. This is a series purely based on Twenty20 Internationals.

Pakistan had won one game and lost one game in the series. Zimbabwean Cricket team had lost one which they had played while Australia had won the game just they had played. But, these two teams didn't met. Also, Australian team were so aggressive in their batting. These two teams faced at Harare Sports Club.

Zimbabwe had won the toss and decided to field first, Surprisingly. I had intentionally put the word " Surprisingly", which you can understand in the upcoming lines. Australian Openers Aaron Finch and Darcy Short came into bat. At first 2 overs, Australians were at 14/0. Everybody would have thought that Australians might score about 160. As, during the initial two overs, they were getting more and more leg byes with some quick singles.

But, Cricket is an unexpected game, which could turn around its heads not within an over even within a course of ball. A ball could change the game. These phrases were proven true on that day. Finch, had previously smacked 156 runs in T20 International Cricket, 5 years ago (from the day, match was held). He has that potential.

Zimbabwean bowlers were so weak and Finch used that to his full extension. He started Smashing each and every delivery bowled. Simultaneously, at other end, Darcy Short played so slowly and instead of hitting, he rotated the strike. Finch was in full fledged assassination over the merciful Zimbabweans. At the end of 6 overs, Australians scored 75/0. Another shocking thing is that, Aaron Finch had gone fast his fifty, inside the powerplay overs. He scored 51 off just 22 balls.

After the field restrictions lifted, atleast it would have been expected that Australia will slow down their game. But, no. There isn't no turning back !. Just only moving forward. Darcy Short continued to give singles. Aaron Finch was blasting like an atom bomb. The bowler was trying to bowl attacking leg stump, whereas this man, Aaron Finch, gave himself room, showcased all three stumps, and hit it through the covers for a big six. Inside Out shot picking from the leg stump. Never easy, but with Finchy's execution it became easier.

Also a slog down the deep mid wicket direction, shown him hitting the ball out of the Stadium. So easy and so effective. He crossed his century at 50 balls, with hitting 49 off last 28 balls. Still, it is quickest. But, he isn't satisfies with his own second fifty. Whereas, Short didn't want to take risks. So, he gradually given strike to Finch with hitting a boundary at once in a blue moon situation.

Finch were priceless. Another toughest of the shot is the tennis ball shot. Very few number of batsmen hit tennis ball shot when a bouncer delivery is bowled. Aaron finch, did it perfectly, on that day, with hitting a four through the covers. He reached his third fifty off just 19 balls. 150 runs off just 69 balls. Yet, he hasn't finished.

He was dismissed on the last over, particularly it isn't a dismissal but he hit himself out with hitting the stump. But, at the end, he finished with 172 off just 76 balls, with 16 fours and 10 maximum. The second highest ever T20 Score and the highest score ever in T20 Internationals. A massive achievement. Also, the partnership between Finch and Short were 223 runs, the highest ever in T20Is. Aussies finished with 229/2 at the end of 20 overs.

Zimbabweans weren't in the game right from the start. They kept losing wickets cheaply, with the run rate, taking a toll against them, with two maiden overs bowled in T20 !. Andrew Tye, were so economical, picking 3 wickets for jsut 12 overs in his full quota of 4 overs. It seemed to be a good comeback after getting thrashed by Englishmen, during June 2018.

Australians won the game, quite comfortably by 100 runs. Their biggest win margin by runs in T20 Internationals. Aaron Finch was adjudged Man of the Match.
