Knight Riders Vs Tallawahs, CPL 2020, Full Match Review

Yesterday, both the winners, Jamaica Tallawahs and Tribago Knight Riders, faced off each other, Brian Lara Cricket Stadium, Tarouba. As the earlier game between Zouks and Tridents were affected by Rain, this had a clear influence in the second game as well. Tribago Knight Riders have won the toss and decided to field first. The move seemed as a 50-50, because of the slow nature of the wicket. But, it worked well.

Tallawahs came into bat. They had an mixed powerplay, they scored 46 runs for the loss of 3 wickets and those three wickets came during initial three overs of the match, at each one. Ali Khan used his powerplay skills well with a good outswinger deliveries and also with constant line and length. He didn't tried to bowl even a single short ball, which restricted some added runs. Whereas, on the side of Tallawahs, the player to be watched out is, Glenn Phillips. His consistency and his technique, predominantly reminds me of the Aussie Great, " Steve Smith ". He possess, a xerox copy version of his stance. He was perfect at one end, without any slowing down, played his own game. He didn't change his tactics and he reached a much needed fifty, where at the other end, wickets were crumbling, with many batsmen making silly mistakes. Other than him, Asif Ali added some runs but hence it was a pure domination from the bowling side. Russell's formout and slow innings adds a further worry to the woes of Tallawahs. The pitch started to slow down and ultimately Sunil Narine made use of it. Tallawahs made a score of 135/8 at the end of 20 overs.

Tribago Knight Riders, came into bat with a mediocre target set by Tallawahs. They lost Lendl Simmons with a well directed bouncer from Fidel Edwards. But, the turning point of the game is again Sunil Narine. Right from the start, he attacked the bowlers and after the end of powerplay, he played with even more added technique. As the wicket slowed sown, Tribago Knight Riders, weren't ready to lose their wicket, as keeping wickets in hand, makes them at an upper position. Colin Munro's innings were also equally crucial, as he started off slowly but he ensured that he will be playing till that end. Sunil Narine scored a wonderful fifty. Tallawahs on the other hand, tried to break the partnership by rotating bowlers, whereas nothing worked out. Then, Sunil Narine was dismissed along with a 5 over gap, Darren Bravo were also dismissed. It seemed that, the situation might get out of control, but kudos to Colin Munro, who changed his gears and tried accelerating. His acceleration, brought Tribago back into the game and hence, the finished the game by 3 wickets with 11 balls to spare. Sunil Narine was awarded the Man of the Match.

Right now, the most happiest and most saddest person on the earth is the management of Kolkata Knight Riders. Will be definitely happy because of Narine's form whereas they would be sad, thinking on the Russell's form. This might turn the table back into his head. A one sided, but a technically stronger side won the game.
