Zouks' defend their lowest total ; Warriors comeback strongly.

In this tournament, each and every day consisted of two games, with ignoring matches on Friday and Monday, in terms of rest for players and support staffs. Yesterday, there were matches which would be of great stuffs in this tournament. At first match, it was seen as one of the best low scorers whereas, the other match saw this year's first CPL Centurion, in the midst of slow wickets. But, the teams at bottom become even more worse whereas the teams at the top of the points table, continue to dominate.

Zouks VS Tridents

Darren Sammy has been phenomenal in his captaincy. We have known him that, the only WI Captain to win two T20I Cups under his name. The experienced campaigner, continues to dominate in this tournament, with a team capable to defending low scores. Whereas, on the other hand, the previous edition's title winner, Tridents, struggling to find a good rapport. Jason Holder, Tridents' Captain and current captain of West Indies Test Team, struggling to assign a great plan, in his side. They badly need wins, to qualify for the semi finals.

Tridents had won the toss and decided to field first. They were, right on the cue from very first over. Their fielding were so so good, that made Zouks to score a boundary at middle. After a slow powerplay, it is seen that the wicket is much well suited for spinners. Hayden Walsh Jr., Rashid Khan and Ashley Nurse spun the ball outside the batsmen and the combination of these trio dismissed 5 wickets in total and their economy were just 4.6, showing the toughness for the batting side. No words to describe Zouks' batting, as they lost wickets at the regular intervals, struggled to tackle this slow wicket. Also, some extraordinary fielding stuffs, specifically the dismissal of Kugglejin where Hayden Walsh caught at the boundary edge of deep square leg, shows their commitment. Zouks, lost all of their wickets for just 92 runs.

Everybody thought that, this would be easily chased away by Tridents. Thats what also been expected when Charles and Shai Hope, played tactically at the powerplay. Charles played with so much temperament, as they target is low, so hence we should play it little slow. The wicket also demanded this kinda innings. But, other than Charles, none had that immense calmness and gave away their wickets cheaply. The ball didn't reach the bat as expected with getting little slow and little uneven. Another issue is that, there weren't any proper middle order batsman in the middle, giving way for all rounders to come up and bat. Charles after scoring an important 39, gave away his wicket, which turned the course of the game. Corey's poor form continued, along with spinners giving a tightened game. Sammy even at middle overs, set fielders with a reference to the test match. In the end, Tridents scored 89/7, losing the game by 3 runs. Man of the Match was given to Javel Glenn for his 8(4) and 2/11 at the spell of 3 overs.

The chances for Tridents to qualify for semi finals, diminished even more further, with this loss.

Warriors VS Patriots

At one end, Guyana Amazon Warriors coming back after a loss, whereas St. Kittis and Nevis Patriots desperately needed a win to stay in the target and if a loss is occurred, it meant their elimination. Guyana Amazon Warriors had won the toss and decided to field first.

St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots made a slow start. Chris Green and Kevin Sinclair gained complete control in the powerplay, with just providing 33/2 at the end of 6 overs. Both the openers lost their wicket so quickly, which had reflected in their start. But, Joshua Da Silva, coming at No.3, played an exceptionally well made innings. Two days before, the innings played by Glenn Philips against Patriots, is seemed to be off similar kind with the innings played here in this game by Joshua Da Silva. He stood almost till the end, and payed the team with a good made fifty. Along with him, Ramdin made a good supporting knock and finished well at the end. Patriots made 150/5 at the end of 20 overs.

Guyana Amazon Warriors came into bat. They had a very poor start with losing 3 wickets for just 30 runs, inside 6 overs. Rayad Emrit, rotated the bowlers well in the powerplay, with Jaggesar and Alzarri Joseph claiming wickets of Hetmyer, Sinclair and Bradon King. Nicholas Pooran comes into bat along with Ross Taylor. At the end of 10 overs, the score were 59/3. Pooran started to target on the spinners, whereas Taylor provided a good support at the other end. But, still this hitting isn't enough. Warriors were looking for a turning point and it came in the form of Imran Khan at the 11th over. In that over, Pooran smashed 2 sixes and a four with an overall of 18 overs. This over turned to be a massive changeover from which each and every over had minimum a boundary or a six. Ish Sodhi and Imran Khan were pattered by Pooran with his slog sweep and his pull shots. Pooran crossed his previous CPL best of 81 at the 17th over, and at 18th over, he smashed 3 consecutive sixes off Sodhi, clearing the game with 7 wickets remaining. He also crossed his ton off just 45 balls.

Man of the Match were awarded to Nicholas Pooran for is outstanding knock of ton.
