Tridents' out of Semifinal Race ; Tallawahs found a spot
Yesterday, there were two games played. One game is a mere decider for Tridents, to stay in the fight as there is a slight competition between Tallawahs and Tridents for that sole spot. St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots have had a tough heart breaking season along with Tridents, who scored just in double digits at the last two games. Also, the domination made by Trinbago Knight Riders, is humongous. 8 straight win in 8 games, to book a berth at semifinal spot !!.
St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots VS Jamaica Tallawahs
There is nothing to analyse in this match, as this match were abandoned due to rain after playing just 5.4 overs. As usual, Jamaica Tallawahs had won the toss and choose to field first. St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots made a good start with scoring 46 runs for no loss at 5.4 overs, where the rain intervened and shattered the game. Also, it shattered the hopes of Barbados Tridents, as Jamaica Tallawahs still have two games in hand. Whereas after the night's game, Tridents have only one game in hand and also they were in a situation to win both the games to have a mild chance to qualify for the semifinal. The only happier ones would be Jamaica Tallawahs, who can qualify if they just need to win a single game in the remaining two because of the additional point.
St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots on the other hand, would be looking to win the last game just for their pride and the love received from their fans.
Barbados Tridents VS Guyana Amazon Warriors
At one end, there is a team which had announced its qualification, a day before. Whereas on the other hand, there is a team which needs to win two out of two to find a mild chance of qualification as there is things like net run rate and also for their qualification, Tallawahs needed to lose either of their remaining fixtures, which remains low in possibility. So, it is important for both !
Guyana Amazon Warriors have won the toss and decided to field first. The wicket were slow and the out field isn't much quick as expected. So, Chris Green had placed fielding in a jam packed manner and used slips to create pressure. Spinners were on a rotation and once again, they passed well in their job assigned to them. During Powerplay, Romario Shepherd snatched wickets with his slower ones and sudden bouncers. Tahir, and Chris Green were precise in their line and length. A tight bowling with the combination of fielding skills, outplaying Tridents. Whereas Tridents, yet again scored at double digits, and failing to capitalize with the bat. The wicket is slow, but there is a great impatience and deform in batting prevails. Right from the beginning, I have mentioned that there is a big hole in the middle order, which they needed to sort out. As they didn't, now this hole had began to affect the top order batsmen. Tridents finished on 89/9 at the end of 20 overs.
When it comes to the bowling, Tridents did well. They picked up early wickets and put immense pressure straight towards the batsmen. But, it isn't enough as there isn't score to defend on. If they had scored around 130, this would have been a challenging battle. But seriously, these aren't the pitches suitable for T20 Cricket. These are pure test pitches and still yet 200+ scores haven't been seen. Even a double digit score getting defended, showing the toughness in the wicket.
Man of the Match were awarded to Romario Shepherd for his early breakthroughs. This loss meant Tridents getting out of Semifinal race and Tallawahs qualifying straight to the semi final. So, hence from the next match, there won't be much battle expected as the qualification were announced, four matches before. Tridents have one game in hand and they would be trying to win this to please their fans.
