Trinbago's winning heist continues ; Tridents' run turn bad to worse

Trinbago's all round performance continues to boon them in this tournament. These two matches depict the importance of basics in batting rather than only hitting. Also, these matches are a true example where if there is a failure in our technique, whole match gets caused of this. Guyana Warriors are on the win hunt to secure a berth at top four semi final spot. On the other hand, Tridents get out of the race.

Knight Riders VS Tallawahs

These two met at previous occasion in this edition, where Knight Riders won the game comfortably by 7 wickets. But, this time, it's most needed one for the Tallawahs, who were on a win hunt. On the other hand, Knight Riders, unofficially booked their semi final spot, and a win would mean their official booking. Both the teams have their major cricketers, coming back to play after a small gap. Tallawahs had won the toss and decided to field first.

Knight Riders start off pretty well, with Narine smashing 29 off just 10 balls. Simmons, on the other hand, haven't got back to his form, struggled even in this match. Munro played a clumsy but useful innings for Knight Riders, who started out without getting a better timing. Tallawahs' spinners were on a fun ride, with tightening their line and length, giving no space for the batsmen to score. Lammichane and Mujeeb Ur Rahman, bowled so accurate that restricted the run flow, especially during the overs between 10-15. Whereas, the pacers, Rovman Powell and Fidel Edwards, gave away runs with their poor deliveries. They bowled loose deliveries and also fuller length ones, which helped Knight Riders to score on. Because of them, the score went to 184/4 at the end of 20 overs. Munro finished with 65(54).

Tallawahs desperately needed a win. They came into bat. But, here the captaincy skills of Pollard won against Tallawahs batting. He used spinners to bowl most of the overs. This wicket supported spin and he used his 4 spinners to bowl continuously. An experimental start with giving Akeal Hossain, Sunil Narine and Karry Pierre to bowl the powerplay. Tallawahs weren't able to hit them as their line and length were so sharp. They waited for the over of Jayden Seales, but still Pollard insisted on spinners and bowled using Fawad Ahmad and asked Dwayne Bravo to bowl even more slower than before. All of them paid his reputation and grid locked the batting of Tallawahs. Jayden Seales were given to bowl the 18th over. The match slowed down for Tallawahs and eventually bringing them to smash at the death. Russell's fireworks weren't much enough to ensure a win, as Trinbago clinched the game by 19 runs. Colin Munro were awarded the Man of the Match. Also, Knight Riders booked their semi final spot. 7 Wins in 7 Games, winning record streak !

Tridents VS Warriors

Tridents had a nightmare at previous game, failing to chase 92 runs at their full quota of 20 overs. On the other hand, Guyana thrashed Patriots in their last game to stay awake in the competition. Holder, the Captain of Tridents had won the toss and decided to bat first, surprisingly. This is the major mistake done by Tridents' in this game.

Tridents' came into bat at a slowish track which isn't useful for the batsmen to score on. But, if the batsman has enough patience, he can build an innings, which lacked at Tridents. Warriors were on a rock and roll, with picking wickets right from the start. The field setup were similar to the setup kept at test cricket. Warriors used their spinning options, and kept field placements with response to the catching. Bowlers were right on the money with dismissals occurring at quick intervals. Many Trident Batsmen tried to clear boundary, and didn't get much on their bat, due to the slowness present in the wicket. Santner is an exemption who timed the ball perfectly with his sharp focus. Other than him, none stepped up. Tridents got out for mere 92 runs. Naveen Ul Haq scalped 4 wickets with his slow off and leg cutters, bowled at a perfect pitching spot.

Warriors came into bat. They even lost wickets at early phase, but Bradon King, stood like a rock. He played his defense well and took his own time. He waited for the right moment, and once it hit, he started counter attacking. If this kinda innings, were been from the Tridents' innings, the score would have been at least around 130-140. But, impatience caused them the loss. Bradon King scored a well made half century, and Warriors sneaked a win. Last Year Champion, drowning this year. Also, this match marks Zouks' to be the second team qualifying for the semi final spot. Naveen Ul Haq was awarded the Man of the Match.
