Two Non Intense Semi Finals ! One Sided Games !!

As the league stage finished two days ago, it was designed in a way that it contains two semi finals and one final, unlike previous years' format of knockout stage, where it had qualifier 1, eliminator, qualifier 2 and final. So, as per this year's format, win is must and no hopes of losing one and getting another chance. At first semi final game, the team placed No.1 spot will meet the team placed at No.4 spot. On the second semi final game, It is No.2 Vs No.3. Everybody expected to be off one of the greatest games but turned out to be one sided games.

Knight Riders VS Tallawahs

On one hand, Knight Riders were cruising without finding a single loss in the tournament so far whereas on the other hand, it's  a team which qualified based on luck and the interruption of rain towards the game. These two teams met at the first semi final game, and experts again failing to give correct pitch report, stating this might be a good batting track. Main rookies of Knight Riders have came back to the squad as the semifinal were approaching. Trinbago Knight Riders have won the toss and once again decided to field first.

Tallawahs came into bat. Till 12 overs, no signs of pace were introduced with giving the ball to quad spinners namely, Akeal Hosain, Fawad Ahmed, Sunil Narine and Kharry Pierre. They four spun the ball away and into the batsmen, which frustrated the Tallawahs' batters. Pollard was so sharp in his tactics, and there are some great showcases of brilliance in his captaincy. For most of the overs he placed a slip fielder and asked the bowlers to bowl at good length. If the length misses, they would get smashed. So, for avoiding those additional runs, he placed a fielder at point. That fielder, held a couple of grabs and especially the key wicket of Glenn Philips, were snatched for duck. Akeal Hosain bowled so tight, and picked up three wickets. On the other hand, Tallawahs weren't really on the game. Nkrumah Bonner was the only one who showed some resistance, whereas others came onto the mindset of playing some defense cricket and planning to attack at the end which didn't work. Also, they didn't took any risks, mainly the batting of Brathwaite made to look into this game as a mere Test Match. Unlike the last ball sixer, he too were struggling against Knight Riders. Tallawahs finished on 107/7 at the end of 20 overs. A low total against a powerful Knight Riders' lineup.

Trinbago Knight Riders came into bat. They lost Narine too early for an attempted cross batted shot to a straight ball. Other than that, Knight Riders didn't made any mistake in the game. Simmons took his time but his shots were so confident along with Webster. Both scored runs fluently. On the other hand, unlike Knight Riders, Tallawahs gave overs to pace bowlers which were seen them getting smashed. Also, these points made Knight Riders to win the game and also reached the Final Spot. Akeal Hossain were awarded the Man of the Match.

Zouks VS Warriors

Zouks and Warriors were at equal positions but with respect to net run rate, Warriors finished a place higher than Zouks. Both had face in gropu stage and each won one and lost one. So, it is a game between two teams of equal strength. Zouks have won the toss and decided to field first. Their batting has been at a slight slump but their bowling and fielding lead them to this semi final spot. Whereas Warriors game were unpredictable with mixed way of performances from all the three departments.

Warriors' game were so worse that, even Jamaica's Game would look better. But, this is given credits to Darren Sammy and Zouks' fielders who took some extraordinary catches. Also, he placed a fielding similar to close setup at test cricket. Same, at this game too, spinners dominated with picking up 8 wickets out of 10. At early part of the game, Kuggelejin were used, but then his overs has been cut and then spinners were given full freedom. No batsmen were showing some resistance and temperament. Wickets were kept picked by Zouks, with so,e excellent acrobatics especially at the boundary regions. Warriors were dismissed for mere 55 runs, the lowest total in CPL.

After dismissing the whole team, now the batting and the target is so simple to chase. Both Rakheem Cornwall and Mark Deyal went on the bowlers right from the over one. They both finished the game at just 4.3 overs, and there isn't much to speak about the batting of Zouks. Deyal was awarded the Man of the Match for his all round performance.

Now, its Zouks VS Knight Riders at the final. It is a clash between ex WI Captain and Current limited overs WI Captain. What if two best strategists of West Indies face off ! Just wait a day and we will look into the result !!
