Bangladesh Cricket Board ( BCB ), has made an announcement towards its national selection panel. After, announcing their inclusion of Yo-Yo Test, in the fitness manual of Bangladeshi Cricket Team along with maintaining its previous fitness method. So, now some intentional changes are made in the selection panel, just to improve their performance in the coming years.

Bangladeshi Cricket Board have added Abdur Razzaq in the national selection panel. It was already planned during March 2020, but due to corona virus pandemic, this idea was kept on postponing.

During 9th meeting of BCB Board of Directors, they have announced the inclusion of left arm spinner in the National Selection Panel.

Razzaq has said that, he will soon take a call on his competitive cricket, after being informed to him via zoom call. He also said that, he is excited for this new role, as he had played with many cricketers in the domestic level. As he had played, he knew how a player would react in each and every situation. Also, he knew the strength and weakness of each and every player in the competitive format.

BCB have kept their faith on the two-member selection panel headed by Minhajul Abedin and Habibul Bashar being his deputy. Razzak, meanwhile, will be the third member of the panel. Minhajul has been in the selection panel since 2011 but was appointed as the chief selector in 2016.

BCB also added that the existing contract for the centrally contracted players and first class players will continue until further decision.

Abdur Razzaq had represented Bangladesh for a period of 14 years, in which his place in the team weren't permanent till the end of his international career. He was a keen left arm orthodox bowler, who could even provide some resistance with the bat, at lower down the order.
