PCB Signs three year deal with Sky Sports !

Pakistani Cricket Board ( PCB ) is on full fledged mode in promoting their cricket to all parts of the world. They are keen to resume cricket back in their country, which they successfully did in the series against Zimbabwe. After this, they wanted to play home series against the major cricketing nations, which they have finally found due to the market of Pakistan Super League ( PSL ). Along with these two, now they are grabbing broadcasters all over the world to look upon them.

PCB has began distributing its cricketing rights, all over the world. With local broadcaster, Pakistan Television ( PTV ) signing an agreement to telecast all home matches in Pakistani region, they have also negotiated local tie-ups with Willow TV for North America, Flow Sports for Caribbean, Supersport for Africa and Skysport for New Zealand. Along with these deals, right now they have signed a three year deal with Sky Sports for UK Region.

Also, it is reported that, their prime target is the larger audience for Cricket - South Asian Region. In South Asian Region, their main focus is on India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. But, in India, due to the political ties and tensions between two countries, due to ongoing issue, promoting Pakistani Cricket is so difficult. So, a bigger part of audience is left out.

But, apart from that they have wider audience over all parts of the country, makes them feel something great. As per PCB Chief Executive, "Even, in this pandemic situation, PCB is the most benefitted cricket board". "The homecoming of all cricket has attracted its leading sports partners to place Pakistan Cricket on their networks, which, in turn will provide enhanced access to our fans and supporters, across the world to follow and stay connected with us".

"This is a huge achievement for the PCB, not only in terms of succeeding in taking cricket to our global fans through these popular networks but to also maximise and exploit our media rights to ensure we continue to invest in our player welfare and development as well as cricketing infrastructure. The interest of these global sport networks also reflects that Pakistan cricket remains an attractive product for the international broadcasters. We now need to make our product bigger and stronger so that we can extend these partnerships and relationship beyond 2023."

Pakistan has a packed home season at home starting with the South Africa Tests from January 26 followed by the sixth edition of PSL with 34 matches. As the year goes on, they are also set to host New Zealand (white-ball), England (men's and women's T20Is) and West Indies (white-ball). And in 2022, Australia is due for a full tour with England and New Zealand returning for Test and ODI series. The 2023 calendar is still being chalked out.
