2021 Bangladesh tour of New Zealand Postponed !

During last year, at the month of November, New Zealand Cricket Board has released their summer schedule with confirming that, each and every series will go as per planned. Same as their words, the test series against West Indies and Pakistan, went on as per the schedule with New Zealand winning both the series. Similarly, the series between Australia and New Zealand were also confirmed. But, now there are some mild changes in NZ vs BAN series.

Previously, New Zealand vs Bangladesh match has been scheduled to begin from 13th of March. But, due to COVID-19 Protocols, the series has been postponed for a week. So, this tour will begin from March 20th instead of 13th, as quarantine period demands. Also, it will be held as double headers, with women tour between New Zealand and Australia, scheduled to be held alongside.

The change in schedule was, per the statement, "caused by ongoing challenges in the current COVID-19 environment and the need to allow visiting sides adequate preparation for international commitments.

"To accommodate the necessary logistics, the Bangladesh tour will now begin seven days later than initially scheduled, following a five-day training camp at Queenstown, with matches to be played at the venues first planned, but on different dates," the statement said.

With the ODI series now finishing only on March 26 and Bangladesh staying on for longer, NZC has made room for double headers in order to not let the change in schedule for the men's series have an impact on the women's series between the Trans-Tasman rivals, starting with the T20Is.
